Historic Lincoln House

Image

Our most ambitious project to date is this spectacular estate in Lincoln's historic district. On 2 acres, bordering conservation lands and myriad trails, this 6900 sq. ft. house needed a complete renovation, with new heat, central AC, and Internet. But the existing woodwork and luxurious room layout needed little from us. On the market for $ 2,985,000.

Riverfront in Concord

In 2007 we discovered a hidden gem, a 2100 sq. ft. cottage on the Sudbury River. It had not been updated in 40 years, but had beautiful plantings, trees, and a sensational view! We added custom woodwork, and put in a new Viking kitchen and 4 new bathrooms. Two new dormers improved the roofline. This house is on the market for $ 1,295,000.

Shingle Style house on Belmont Hill

Image

In 2005, we were fortunate to purchase a 1 1/2 acre lot on Belmont Hill, with a view of the Boston skyline. In a neighborhood of historic homes, we copied the Shingle Style, made popular 1890-1910 by the architects McKim, Mead and White. The 6000-sq.ft. house looks like it's a century old from the outside.

Coolidge Hill, Cambridge

This house was built in 1927, and is in a tranquil West Cambridge neighborhood. We were drawn by the slate roof and brick exterior. The kitchen and 4 baths were done over in a "retro" 1920's look, but new electric, AC, and Gas heat, and internet connections were a nod to the 21st century. All the period woodwork was preserved.

Marsh Street, Belmont Hill

In 2006, we acquired a buildable lot on Belmont's most prestigious street, a wooded road with gracious mansions built in the 1930's. Our goal was to build a house that seamlessly fit in with its neighbors, and didn't stand out as being "brand new". The 5000 sq. ft. house has a large family room, and a bluestone deck opening onto a private back yard.
